I set up the agency in 2001, and although, like all businesses, we’ve faced challenges over the years, it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.

I’m genuinely proud of our team and their positive attitude when it comes to looking after our clients and each other.

I’m a big believer in life-long learning and always interested in new things we can apply to our working lives to make our clients continue to have great experiences with us.

I’m a dad to four boys, make that five if you count Bobby, our office dog.

When I get the chance to switch off from the office, I like to get outdoors, spend time with the family and occasionally fantasise about my other dream job as the frontman of a rock band!

Gordon’s Top Tip for Sellers and Landlords: “Can I have two tips? Firstly, be realistic on the sale or rental price. This helps generate interest. Secondly, and it’s not ground-breaking but is fundamental to a property’s success, is to present it as well as you can.”

I’ve been part of the team for ten years and love working here.

Mine is a varied role, with no two days ever being the same.

I’m a mother of two young children, and my husband and Frankie, our Daschund, make up our family.

And there’s a family feel to our office, we’re all local people and all focussed on looking after our clients and their properties.

If my colleagues described me in three words, I think they’d say I’m hardworking, conscientious and good fun (I hope).

When I’m not looking after my family or clients, I enjoy going to the gym and have taken part in two Tough Mudder endurance events with a third to follow in 2020.

Sammy’s Top Tip for Sellers and Landlords: “For landlords, I’d say detach yourself from the property and understand that once it’s rented out, it’s someone else’s home. For sellers, I think it always pays to be patient and listen to the advice from your agents.”

I’ve been a part of our friendly, hardworking team for more than five years.

I was born in Brighton but have travelled a lot and enjoyed seeing what the world has to offer.

I suppose I’m the office’s mother hen and am a bit of a natural worrier which is no bad thing when your job involves looking after people’s properties.

My caring nature extends to our clients, and over the years, it’s been great to build relationships with many of them. We’ve built our agency’s wonderful reputation on being friendly and approachable, and it’s always fantastic to hear from appreciative clients.

My family of two children, a husband, a fluffy cat and a crazy dog keep me very busy away from the office – but I adore them and love working at GK Whites.

Sam’s Top Tip for Sellers and Landlords: “Be realistic about the value of your property. Some agencies will overprice your property intentionally to win your business, so it’s important to be mindful of that.”

I’ve been in the lettings industry for more than 16 years and with G K Whites for 14 of those. It’s a great job because I get to meet lots of different people and see many styles of property, but best of all I get the opportunity to help people. I’m a self-confessed people pleaser which isn’t the worst thing in the world when you are in a service industry. And giving good service to our clients is something we’re all focussed on in the office. I have a young son called Mason who loves animals hence our family’s regular trips to zoos, and I’m a Brighton and Hove Albion fan, regularly attending matches to cheer on the Seagulls. Andy’s Top Tip for Sellers and Landlords: “Be mindful of how your décor looks to potential buyers or tenants. Too garish or dull and you’ll put people off. Aim for a balance in between.”
